Dear Parishioners,
It’s great to be back, and what a weekend for our parish it is, with First Holy Communions and Confirmations for our children and young people. We keep them in our prayers.
Sad and difficult times though, for the families of Iris Keefe, Tony Moffat and David Latimer. (See below). We keep them in our prayers too.
God Bless
Fr Doug
CONFIRMATION
This Saturday evening in mass we will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation with:
Cheluchi Igboehwu, Nnenna Igboehwu, Kate Montgommery and Leah Ryan. This is a great occasion for them, their families, our parish and for the whole Church. God’s Spirit is among us!
Next week there will be two further Confirmations. At this time the Archbishop has asked Fr Doug to confer the Sacrament. The parish are most grateful to their catechists.
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION
On Sunday we will be celebrating Holy Communion for the first time with some of:
Iliya Dean, Alfred Edwards, Danielo Ippolito, Dylan McDermott, Archie McMullen, Dawn Monteiro, , Alexander Sanft, Gabriellus Spietinis, Anayah Springer Diamantino and Yannick Springer Diamantino. Sadly some of these children are isolating and will defer till next weekend. Again, this is a great celebration for us all and a sign of God’s activity in our midst. We are so grateful to the catechists with this group too.
Next week there will be two more children approaching the altar.
SEA SUNDAY
This week is Sea Sunday, when the Church prays for all those who live and work at sea. There will be a second collection for Stella Maris (the Apostleship of the Sea), which supports seafarers both practically and spiritually. For an appeal talk from Bishop Paul Mason, and a video showing some of what Stella Maris does, please visit http://www.stellamaris.org.uk/SeaSunday. If you want to donate online go to http://www.stellamaris.org.uk/donate or you can text ‘SEA’ to 70460 to donate £5.
MEETING PLACE – Great News!
We will be reopening in the Hall for the Meeting Place on Wednesday 28 July – 10-12 for light refreshments. We will not be serving lunches on this first day, but will adjust the catering and times when we have some idea of numbers attending. All are welcome, please spread the word.
