And welcome to Father Patrick O’Beirne who is here this weekend to appeal on behalf of the Columban Missionary Society:
Fr Patrick hopes to:
- Raise awareness of our missionary vocation
- Encourage people to be more involved in the missionary work of the Church
- Thank the loyal supporters of the society
- Seek greater support for the missionary magazine, “The Far East”
- Take a second collection in support of the Mission
First Holy Communion and Confirmation – First Communions will be on Sunday 11th July and Confirmations will be on 10th and 17th July.
These celebrations are special to the individuals involved but to all of us too. Please pray for the children and young people involved, for their families and for their catechists.

Sea Sunday
Next week is Sea Sunday, when the Church prays for all those who live and work at sea. There will be a second collection for Stella Maris (the Apostleship of the Sea), the official maritime welfare agency of the Catholic Church.
