Memorial Rose Garden

Isn’t the memorial rose garden looking fabulous? For anyone unaware, the roses were planted to celebrate the lives of loved ones who have died. Congratulations to those involved in maintaining it – and also to those involved in improving the flower bed and piazza in front of the church.

Emerging from Lockdown

  • May I remind those of you who make your weekly offering to the church through the baskets to do so AS YOU ENTER the church so that the basket can be brought forward in the procession.  If you forget there will still be a basket there at the exit.
  • Social distancing of 1 metre is required. We wear face coverings, we maintain a high ventilation and we don’t have communal singing or recitation of the Gloria and Creed.

Tuesday – Feast of Saints Peter and Paul

This is a great feast (technically, a solemnity) of the whole Catholic Church celebrated all around the world.

There is a second collection at masses on this day for Peter’s Pence. The collection goes to Pope Francis to enable him on behalf of the universal Church to respond to needs around the world which might be in alleviating poverty, in keeping people alive in famines, in caring for victims of war and so on.

Columban Mission Appeal

Please provide a warm welcome next weekend for Fr Patrick O’Beirne, who will be here on behalf of the St. Columban Missionary Society

First Holy Communion and Confirmation

First Communions will be on Sunday 11th July and Confirmations will be on 10th and 17th July.

These celebrations are special to the individuals involved but to all of us too. Please pray for the children and young people involved, for their families and for their catechists.

                                    God Bless
