Jesus, The Mediator Of A New Covenant

God made the new covenant of his love with the poor, the lowly, the down-trodden and the oppressed.   It is therefore in a spirit of humility, the spirit of Jesus, that we make our celebration today, asking him to accept the homage of the humble.

JOHN PAUGHER RIP: Many people attending 8.30am Mass will remember John Harrington. John’s wife, Connie, has asked us to pray for their son-in-law, John Paugher, who died whilst cycling to work recently. Please remember John and his wife, Lyn, and all the family in your prayers at this sad time.

CATHOLIC MISSION IN TODAY’S WORLD: A Day Conference – Wednesday 5th October 2016, Loyola Hall, Heythrop College (Please see noticeboard): I have pleasure in enclosing a poster for a special one-day conference on world mission this October in London with the theme: Learning from the past to shape the future: The contribution of the Church in England and Wales to overseas mission and its enduring legacy. The conference is for all those with an interest in world mission, whether personal, pastoral or academic. Please promote the conference and share within your own networks. An electronic version of the poster is available. The day will encourage interaction and discussion. As we celebrate the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Mill Hill Missionaries by Cardinal Vaughan, we are pleased that his biographer and member of the Society, Fr Robert O’Neil MHM, will join us as our keynote speaker. Fr Bob spent many years as a missionary in Cameroon. The event includes lunch and refreshments and is free; however, places must be reserved in advance via http://www.cmu.org.uk/conference or by contacting me. Please see poster for details. It is especially good to be working together with Missio and Heythrop College, as well as the Mill Hill Missionaries as they celebrate their anniversary. A DIGITAL EDITOR with responsibility for maintaining and updating all website content, writing online news and marketing SPUC’s digital content. This is a full-time role, open on a permanent or short-term basis.
A SUPPORTER DEVELOPMENT OFFICER to build pro-life support at the grassroots in England and Wales and develop SPUC’s branch and regional network. This is a full-time role, open on a permanent or short-term basis.

Today, as sons and daughters of God, we submit ourselves to his loving discipline, remembering that it was not just the Jews, nor will it be just Christians whom the Lord will gather to himself. Many more worthy than us will come from East and West to share the banquet of his kingdom.
