GOOD FRIDAY COLLECTION:   The collection at the Good Friday service was for the Holy Places.

EASTER OFFERING:   Parishioners are reminded that the Easter collection is for your Parish Priest. If you are going away and would still wish to donate, Gift Aiders can put their special envelopes into any collection before or after Easter. Those who donate to the loose collection, other than on Easter Sunday, will need to place donation in a seperate envelope marked “Easter Offering“, alternatively it can be posted through the presbytery letterbox.

NORAH LENIHAN:   Jackie and Damian would like to thank all those who attended Norah’s funeral and for any donations, mass cards and all the condolence cards. Our thanks to Carol and the choir and also to Tony for the readings.

FINANCE COMMITTEE:   Very many thanks to our Finance Committee for their devotion in managing our collections from the church through to counting and banking. OUR LADY’S FILM EVENING:   Wed 19th April inspirational movie on St Thomas More, the English Chancellor, who stood up to King Henry VIII when the King rejected the Roman Catholic Church to obtain a divorce and remarriage. Although this film is about St Thomas More, it provides important historical background to the life and times of our patronal Saint, John Fisher. Bar Open and charity stall. All welcome, 7pm for 7.30pm start.

KNIGHTS OF ST COLUMBA  would like to thank Fr Christian and the Parish for allowing them to hand out Keep Christ in Christmas posters, and for their generous donations great and small for the Knights of St Columba National Project, MISSO. Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord

Commemoration of the Lord’s entrance into Jerusalem

On this day the Church celebrates Christ’s entrance into Jerusalem to accomplish his paschal mystery. Accordingly, the memorial of this event is included in every Mass, with the procession or the solemn entrance before the principal Mass, with the simple entrance before the other Masses.

LENT PENITENTIAL SERVICE: There will be a Lent Penitential Service on Monday 10th April at Our Lady of the Angels, Erith at 7.30 pm.

GOOD FRIDAY STATIONS OF THE CROSS: Every Good Friday for over twenty years, the Churches and Parishioners of Old Bexley have come together to pray the Stations of the Cross. At 12 noon on Good Friday, 14th April, the service will be hosted by St John the Evangelist, Parkhill Road, Bexley DA5 1GX – next to Golden Acre Park. All are warmly welcome.
