21st Sunday in Ordinary Time
The Lord Gathers A People To Himself
Today, as sons and daughters of God, we submit ourselves to his loving discipline, remembering that it was not just the Jews, nor will it be just Christians whom the Lord will gather to himself. Many more worthy than us will come from East and West to share the banquet of his kingdom.

CATHOLIC MISSION IN TODAY’S WORLD: A Day Conference – Wednesday 5th October 2016, Loyola Hall, Heythrop College (Please see noticeboard): I have pleasure in enclosing a poster for a special one-day conference on world mission this October in London with the theme: Learning from the past to shape the future: The contribution of the Church in England and Wales to overseas mission and its enduring legacy. The conference is for all those with an interest in world mission, whether personal, pastoral or academic. Please promote the conference and share within your own networks. An electronic version of the poster is available. The day will encourage interaction and discussion. As we celebrate the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Mill Hill Missionaries by Cardinal Vaughan, we are pleased that his biographer and member of the Society, Fr Robert O’Neil MHM, will join us as our keynote speaker. Fr Bob spent many years as a missionary in Cameroon. The event includes lunch and refreshments and is free; however, places must be reserved in advance via http://www.cmu.org.uk/conference or by contacting me. Please see poster for details. It is especially good to be working together with Missio and Heythrop College, as well as the Mill Hill Missionaries as they celebrate their anniversary. This on-going collaboration by these key organisations involved in mission will help us foster a deeper understanding of the missionary nature of our church. Richard Owens, CMU Secretary. Missio, Mill Hill Missionaries, the CMU and Heythrop College.
