Dear Parishioners,

Let’s spare a thought for our farming community at this time. Harvest has had to occur extra early because of climate change and many are using winter fodder already to feed their animals because crops are not growing in this heat. I might be disappointed that the church lawns are brown in colour, but the issues they face in making a living and more importantly in keeping us fed, are more serious. We pray that the Lord of the Harvest will support them and help them see a way forward in these difficult times.

God Bless,                                                Fr Doug

CHRIS BAXTER RIP:  May he rest in peace and rise in glory.

Chris’s funeral will take place on Wednesday 26 August at 11.00.

HOSPITAL ADMISSIONS: If you (or a family member) are admitted to hospital, do ask that your record indicates that you are a Roman Catholic if you would like a visit from the Chaplaincy or to receive Holy Communion. Hospital staff may forget to ask you about your religious background and due to data regulations, the Chaplaincy team cannot approach you unless your religion is on your admission record.

CYBER CRIMINALS … are increasingly using AI to create videos, voice messages and other communications impersonating members of the clergy. They then request money or donations. Never send money, gift cards or bank details in response to such requests. Always verify the identity of the sender by contacting the priest or parish directly using a known telephone number or official email address before responding to any request.
