Dear Parishioners

The climate changes we are experiencing are not surprisingly affecting agriculture in a big way with farmers having to choose different crops to grow, but many of us have noticed changes in our gardens too. I am no expert, but one of the winners this year in the church’s gardens has certainly been the roses. The rose garden at the church entrance has been beautiful all summer long. I love to see parishioners pause and dead-head expired ones and share in the responsibility for keeping it smart and litter free – as in other parts too. But it is worth remembering that the rose garden is a memorial for souls that have gone before us. Another way of involving ourselves in the garden, which I try to practice, is therefore to say a prayer for those souls and anyone we wish to remember, every time we pass by the garden. That could add up to a lot of prayers!

Eternal rest give unto them O Lord, and let perpetual light shine on them. May they rest in peace.

God Bless,                                                                         Fr Doug
