The climate changes we are experiencing are not surprisingly affecting agriculture in a big way with farmers having to choose different crops to grow, but many of us have noticed changes in our gardens too. I am no expert, but one of the winners this year in the church’s gardens has certainly been the roses. The rose garden at the church entrance has been beautiful all summer long. I love to see parishioners pause and dead-head expired ones and share in the responsibility for keeping it smart and litter free – as in other parts too. But it is worth remembering that the rose garden is a memorial for souls that have gone before us. Another way of involving ourselves in the garden, which I try to practice, is therefore to say a prayer for those souls and anyone we wish to remember, every time we pass by the garden. That could add up to a lot of prayers!
Eternal rest give unto them O Lord, and let perpetual light shine on them. May they rest in peace.
God Bless, Fr Doug

DIANE MELAUGH RIP
Please pray for Diane who has died. Her funeral will be on Wednesday 14th September at 10.00.
My family and I would like to thank everyone for their generosity following the death of John. Your kind thoughts, words, cards, Mass cards and donations to the Motor Neurone Disease Association have been a great source of comfort. They are a great tribute to John and are very much appreciated.
Children’s liturgy will recommence next Sunday 11th September. We meet every Sunday during term time in the hall during the first part of 10.30 mass. Families and carers with children from pre-school to Year 4 are encouraged to attend. We look forward to welcoming you back next week.
