Dear Parishioners

As many of you know Canon Peter Stodart, currently parish priest of Tunbridge Wells is soon to retire and take up residence in our parish’s flat, no 48a. However, he will not be arriving in September as previously planned – hopefully a little later in the autumn.

PARISH SOCIAL EVENT

Fancy a boogie? Time to dust off those platform shoes! Come along to our 60’s/70’s night – dancing to a live band – in the Church hall on Saturday 17th September.  Doors open from 7.30pm, music 8-10.30pm, bar open, bring your own nibbles, fancy dress optional (60’s/70’s style).  Adults £10, children £5. Tickets will be on sale after 10.30 mass this Sunday. Alternatively ring Jo on 07941 167771.

 

AUTUMN SPIRITUALITY PROGRAMME

Our spirituality committee have organised an autumn programme about Ways Into Prayer. Meetings will be at 7.30 – 9 on Mondays Oct 3, 17, 31, Nov 14, 28 

and repeated at 1 – 2.30 on Mondays Oct 10, 24, Nov 7, 21, Dec 5. Please tell your diaries!

 

RELICS OF SAINT BERNADETTE

The relics will be in our own St George’s Cathedral during Wednesday 19th to Friday 21^st October and they will be in Aylesford Priory Monday 24^th to Friday 28^th October.  However, fine details seem to vary at the moment. APPRENTICESHIP AT THE ARCHDIOCESE OF SOUTHWARK

THE ALL NATIONS CHARISMATIC GROUP ANNUAL RETREAT – CHRIST IS ALIVE!

CATHOLIC CERTIFICATE IN RELIGIOUS STUDIES

The CCRS is an internationally recognised qualification that provides participants with an understanding of the teachings of the Catholic faith. The course is designed to support the Archbishop’s vision of missionary parishes and schools.  Participants will be equipped to make informed and practical contributions to their chosen field of ministry within the Church.  Please visit aec.rcaos.org.uk/ccrs for further information.  Modules begin 13 September. 

 

DIANE MELAUGH RIP

Sadly Diane died earlier this week. Please pray for the repose of her soul.

 

FR JOHN HARTLEY RIP

There will be a vigil mass on Tuesday 30th August at 7pm at the Holy Family Church, Sanderstead and his funeral will be on Wednesday 31st at 11am The burial will be at Biggin Hill Cemetery, where his brother, Fr Francis is also buried.
