Happy Easter, Everyone – Yes, It is Easter for many weeks to come! 

 I am away in Gozo for a few days so please welcome Fr Krzysztof, from Our Lady of the Angels, Erith who is celebrating masses here this week. I will be back before next weekend.

 

Let me once again thank everyone involved in our Easter celebrations:

The stewards, the readers, the cleaners, the altar servers, the sacristans, those who have led the Stations of the Cross and the catechists who led them for the children, those in the music ministry, the person who produced our Easter Garden, and of course those responsible for the wonderful floral display. 

The services seemed to be well-attended and they were much appreciated by everyone.

 

I also offer my personal thanks for your generous Easter offering and for the many cards and good wishes besides.

PARISH QUIZ NIGHT   CANCELLED! 

We are sorry to announce that the Quiz Night planned for Friday 29^th April has been cancelled.  This is due to insufficient tickets being sold to make it the success we would like!

 

ANNIVERSARY OF THE 1982 VISIT OF POPE St John Paul II To St George’s Cathedral 

There will be Mass with Anointing of the Sick on 28 May 2022 at 12.30 PM

Archbishop John Wilson will celebrate Mass to mark the fortieth anniversary of the visit of St John Paul II to our Cathedral. During this celebration, the sacrament of anointing of the sick will be administered, as it was on the occasion of St John Paul II’s visit. Parishes are invited to select two people (per parish) who might attend this celebration at the Cathedral as representatives of their parish and receive the sacrament of anointing. Please contact Fr Doug by Sunday May 1^st if you would like to attend. If there are more than 2 wishing to go, we will have a random selection procedure – a lucky dip!  

 

CHURCH CLEANING 

We are very grateful to the parishioners who have volunteered to help clean the church.  We now have two new groups. Each group will clean every ten weeks instead of six weeks previously.  A revised rota from week commencing Monday 2 May is available for collection in the cleaners’ cupboard in the Sacristy.

DRIVERS

Volunteers are needed to transport elderly patients. A few hours per week, expenses covered.
