Screenshot 2020-08-07 at 19.38.51First of all, I hope you are well! So many seem to have fallen victim in recent weeks to the Covid virus, but thankfully I haven’t heard of any parishioner with the very serious symptoms. We should though, be extra diligent in the precautions we take in church and in the hall. Let’s be as safe as we can.

We are continuing to work through all the offers of assistance that arose from the stewardship campaign this year.Your response was marvelous. It does take a while however, to put everything in place so if you haven’t received a response yet, please be patient. Equally if you have been thinking about offering your services, your gifts or talents to our community then now would be a good time as we recruit new teams and form new rotas.                Screenshot 2020-04-15 at 15.38.24

HOLY WEEK

Holy Week begins the week after next.  If we don’t plan for things they often pass us by, and the events and services of Holy Week can do just that.  We jump from Jesus entering Jerusalem to his resurrection, with no stops in between!  Please put in your diary the Holy Week services and try to be part of them.  The Church describes the sacred celebrations as The Easter Triduum:

Holy Thursday        8.00 p.m.

Mass of the Lord’s Supper, with Remembrance of the    Washing of the Apostles’ Feet

Silent prayer remembering Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane

Good Friday            3.00 p.m.

Solemn Reading of the Passion according to St. John

            Universal Prayers of the Church

Adoration and Veneration of the Holy Cross

            A Service of Holy Communion

Easter Vigil              8.00 p.m.

Service of Light & Proclamation of Easter

Vigil of Readings from Old and New Testaments

            Baptismal Liturgy

            Mass of Easter Night
