Christ Who Gave Up Everything For Our Sake
We celebrate the self-sacrificing love of Christ, the unfathomable wisdom of God, who was prepared to give up everything out of love for man. In the same spirit St Paul was prepared to send back to Philemon the dear friend of his captivity, Onesimus, a part of his own self.

OUR LADY’S FILM EVENING: Wed 21st Sept: Part 1 of a 2-part movie on St Rita of Cascia. The patron saint of hopeless situations is immortalised in this deeply inspiring movie. Second part on Wednesday 5th October – watch either or both parts. Bar open, all welcome. 7pm for 7.30pm start.
DATE FOR YOUR DIARY: Liam Gray has recently been awarded the Legion d’Honneur from France in recognition of his bravery in WW2. You are invited to join him and his family in the Parish Hall after 10.30 Mass on Sunday 2nd October. More details to follow.

BEXLEY DEANERY DEVELOPING WORLD GROUP: Thank you for your kind donation of £178.26. We are now looking for new projects for the coming year (which starts in October). If you know of any small independent projects in any country in the developing world which could benefit from a donation of £1,000, please contact your parish representative Maria Ward on 01322 555553 for more information and an application form. Forms must be returned by the end of September.
DEBT PROBLEMS can happen through a variety of causes. They may result in personal difficulties which can weigh us down but there is help. Christians Against Poverty (CAP) is a charity completely free to use. Its aim is to help lift the burden of debt and has done so for thousands of others. On Tuesday 20th September at 7.30pm in the Angelus Centre next to Our Lady of the Angels, Bexley Road, Erith DA8 1DN, we are holding an introductory evening to explain how the charity can help. If you wish to come along please email the Erith parish office to register your interest for catering purposes. Please use CAP as the subject line and e-mail ola@btinternet.com.
JOB VACANCY: The Diocesan Education Commission requires a full-time Buildings Officer for January 2017 (an earlier/later start can be negotiated). JAZZ NIGHT: Many thanks to all those who came along to support and enjoy our Jazz Night last Friday. We had great live music and dancing, whilst raising £104 for the AIC “Saturday Friends”. Well done everyone.
