Dear Parishioners 

I am very pleased to tell you that Canon Peter Stodart is our new neighbour and resident. Fr Peter has moved into 48a Thanet Road and looks forward to spending his retirement from active ministry here in Bexley. Please give him a warm welcome when you see him. He will enjoy celebrating mass with us, but after his many years of service in the diocese, he deserves a rest and freedom from ANY parish duties. He and I have been friends for many years and now I get to be his landlord! (- on your behalf, of course.) We also welcome Fr Peter’s family, here this weekend.  God Bless,

HOW TO USE DONA COLLECTION PLATE (DCP) – LOCATED IN THE PORCH

Select a donation amount by pressing one of the amounts.  The card reader screen will read “Please Tap”, select the amount you wish to donate, then tap your card or phone on the card reader.  This will collect the payment. Easy. 

For a donation value greater than £100 (!!), the card must be inserted at the top of the card reader.  The card reader screen will read “Please Tap” with the selected payment amount.  To cancel a transaction before completion, simply press and release the power button on the right-hand side of the card reader.  This cancels the transaction and declines the payment.

 

AUTUMN SPIRITUALITY PROGRAMME CONTINUES:   Our spirituality committee have organised our programme: Ways into Prayer. Meetings at:  7.30 – 9 on Mondays Oct 17, 31, Nov 14, 28, and repeated at:1 – 2.30 on Mondays Oct 24, Nov 7, 21, Dec 5.

Dear Parishioners 

It is with sadness that we inform you of the death of Bishop Howard Tripp during the week.

He served the diocese for many years and it was he who ordained me priest in St.Columba’s Church, Selsdon on Nov 27^th – 40 years ago!   May he rest in peace.
