Dear Parishioners,

This coming Friday, we will celebrate the Coronation of His Majesty, King Charles III in our morning mass and pray for him, using the following prayer:

Priest: O Lord, save Charles, our King.        Response: And hear us on the day we call upon you.

Priest: O Lord, hear my prayer.                     Response: And let my cry come before you.

Priest: The Lord be with you.                        Response: And with your spirit.

All:      Almighty God, we pray, that your servant Charles, our King, who, by your providence has received the governance of this realm, may continue to grow in every virtue, that, imbued with your heavenly grace, he may be preserved from all that is harmful and evil and, being blessed with your favour may, with his consort and the royal family, come at last into your presence, through Christ who is the way, the truth and the life and who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever.

The Archbishop has also granted a dispensation from Friday abstinence on the 5th.

God Bless,                         Fr Doug

We hope to build on last year’s ‘Ways into Prayer’ and this year’s Lenten retreat with Five Eastertide sessions – a peaceful, reflective time with The Lord who welcomes our presence and prepares us for Pentecost.

Many thanks to the parishioner who enabled the Benenden Trust to present us with a defibrillator. It is now in the hallway between the Church and the Parish Hall. We all hope that we will never be called upon to use but if someone’s heart stops beating, you need to obtain a key from the church sacristy or the hall kitchen, and a set of spoken instructions will guide you step by step.

Refreshments are served in the hall every week after 10.30 Mass and all are welcome.  We need 2 or more people to join the Serving Rota – this would mean helping once every 6 weeks. Please consider joining the Rota to help the existing volunteers – contact Anne Rayer. (07855 785331).

Have you ever considered you may be called to the priesthood or the religious life? Southwark Vocations will be hosting a 60 minute webinar on Tuesday 9th May at 7pm entitled The Good Shepherd Calls where different presenters will share their experiences about discovering God’s plan for each one of us. Please join us by registering for this event in advance by using following link:

Good Shepherd Sunday is the day we pray for vocations, for our priests, and we take up the Priest Training Fund collection. This fund pays for the formation of men to become priests. We have 3 men in formation to the Priesthood for our Archdiocese It costs £30,000 a year to sponsor each seminarian. They study for 6 years before being ordained a Catholic priest. We therefore rely on your generous support and prayers. Donate Online:
