The mystery of today’s celebration is Christ among us as our friend. We welcome him as Abraham welcomed the Lord at Mamre, and Martha and Mary welcomed Christ at Bethany.

PILGRIMAGE TO ASSISI: A reminder to all those going to Assisi that the final balance of payment must be paid, direct to Pax Travel Ltd, by 15th August 2019 at the latest.

SJF EVENT: We had a lovely John Fisher celebration last Sunday and everybody seemed to be enjoying the day. A big thank you to those who helped along the way. The Events Team, the BBQ team, the Raffle Team, the bar, the music, the children’s games, the ladies preparing and serving the food, all of which was donated. Thank you to everybody who donated food and gifts for the raffle and also for monetary donations. We made almost £900 towards the Parish Maintenance Fund.

LITURGY GROUP: Following our recent meeting you will notice there are slight changes to the Entrance and Communion Antiphons. We hope you will agree these help to increase the prayerfulness of Mass. READERS – please collect a note about these changes from the Sacristy. SEA SUNDAY – 14th JULY – Next week is Sea Sunday when the Church prays for all those who live and work at sea. There will be a second collection for Stella Maris, Apostleship of the Sea, the official maritime welfare agency of the Catholic church. It provides practical and spiritual support to seafarers visiting our ports. As it is dependent on voluntary donations, please give generously.
