Tenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Christ Who Restores Us To Life

Every conversion, like St Paul’s for example, is a raising to new life. It is like Christ saying to our mother, the Church, “Look, your son is alive again,” and ‘her mourning is changed into dancing”.

CHURCHES TOGETHER IN OLD BEXLEY 2ND ANNUAL SUMMER MUSIC FESTIVAL, FRIDAY 17TH JUNE SUNDAY 3RD JULY 2016:  Following the success of last year’s inaugural festival, we are busy arranging this year’s concerts – more details will follow.  All concerts are FREE and everyone is welcome – from churches and the wider Bexley community.  St John Fisher is hosting the opening concert at 8pm on Friday 17th June with “The Protomarty” – a youth choir who sing regularly in the parish of St Stephen’s, Welling, enriching the Holy Mass and helping to promote Catholic youth and charismatic events in the wider Church.  Many of the current “youth” members have grown up and are now studying at university or working.  On 17th June they will be singing a mixture of classic pop songs based on the theme of “love” and contemporary worship songs about “God’s love” – making the connection that these are not so different from one another, in fact heavily influencing each other and expressing the essential experience of what it means to be truly alive.  Protomarty are joining the pilgrimage to July’s World Youth Day in Krakow with Pope Francis and CTIOB will show support for their fundraising by holding a voluntary collection after the concert.  Please turn up to support Protomartyr and do encourage your friends to come along.

Sunday 3rd July: Songs of Praise – let me know your favourite hymn/s so I can ensure they are included and sung loudly!  Kathy Fogarty 01322 553 993 k.fogarty@ntlworld.com  parish Unity contact
