OUR LADY’S FILM EVENING:  Wednesday 20^th July: inspiring movie on Christ’s most prolific messenger, St Paul the Apostle.  Paul, originally known as Saul of Tarsus, was at the forefront of efforts to stamp out the early Church but then Jesus stopped him on the road to Damascus, forever changing Paul’s life and mission. All welcome.  6.45 pm for 7pm start.  NOTE EARLY START BUT LATE COMERS WELCOME.

 CHURCHES TOGETHER IN OLD BEXLEY ANNUAL SUMMER MUSIC FESTIVAL – Songs of Praise Grand Finale 5pm, Hurst Primary School, Dorchester Avenue, DA5 3AJ:  14 songs so bring plenty of liquid refreshment! We are looking for help with the following please: Stewarding – from 4pm preferably with yellow High-Visibility Jackets (about 4 from each Church);  First-Aiders from 4.30pm (we have one but another couple would be great);  Setting up and clearing the Venue from 3.15pm – help with staging and Gazebo as well as with moving chairs for the band. 2 or 3 people from each Church would be very helpful.  Seating The ground underfoot is tarmac and all need to bring your own seating. We anticipate being finished by 6.45pm latest. Clear-up teams will need to be available to stay until about 7.45pm latest.
Due to family illness I may not be able to attend on Sunday myself, so if volunteers from St John Fisher could kindly attend I would be very grateful.  Kathy Fogarty 01322 553 993 Parish Unity contact.

SEA SUNDAY: Next week is Sea Sunday, when the Church prays for all those who live and work at sea. There will be a second collection for Apostleship of the Sea, the official maritime welfare agency of the Catholic Church in Great Britain. It provides practical and spiritual support to seafarers visiting our ports. As it is wholly dependent on voluntary donations, please give generously. Gift Aid envelopes available in foyer. ST CATHERINE’S SCHOOL 60^TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS, SAT. 2^ND JULY 2016:  For a ticket (£5 each), please contact Mrs L Fitzgerald: lfitzgerald@stccg.co.uk  Mass at 2pm celebrated by Archbishop Peter Smith. Afternoon tea.  Tours of the school and exhibition.

TOWER OF LONDON VISIT: Father Christian and 30 parishioners visited The Tower of London in May this year for a guided tour around the cell and burial place of St John Fisher. We were fortunate to have beautiful weather on the day and our guide at The Tower was excellent. In the afternoon we went on to visit the Door of Mercy at St George’s Cathedral. Our arrival home at 5pm ended a very enjoyable day for all. There is a photo in the porch and in the parish hall of Father Christian with the group.

LESNES ABBEY PROCESSION: The Annual Blessed Sacrament Service will be on 26th June starting at 3pm. First Communion children and uniformed groups especially invited. Toilet facilities may not be open. We need Altar Servers and Parish Banners for this great act of witness and worship. Fr Jim Hurley, Episcopal Vicar for Religious, is our guest preacher. Pray for good weather.

OUR VINCENTIAN AIC GROUP in PECKHAM: have developed a food and clothes bank for needy families in their area. They would very much appreciate any donations of tinned or packet food or clean clothes. JUBILEE YEAR OF MERCY SEMINARS: The third parish seminar will be at 7.30pm on Wednesday 22^nd June in the parish hall. It will begin with a DVD talk by the Rev Nicky Gumble ‘Why Did Jesus Die?’. CLERGY SUPPORT FUND CAMPAIGN: Following your generous support the Campaign has reached £2m in funds raised and pledged. Just over half the parishes in Southwark Diocese have completed their campaigns and so the Campaign is on track.
