This week I was present at a Mass in St. John’s Seminary, Wonersh to mark its closure. Many of the priests of the diocese, including me, were trained there. It was sad to observe that numbers wishing to be trained there cannot justify its continuation. Priests for our diocese are now being trained at Allen Hall, in Chelsea. It is also true that many of the priests serving in our diocese are from abroad. We are blessed in their ministry but we should also renew our efforts to pray for, to encourage, and to support vocations to the priesthood in our own country.
God bless.

CHURCH SYNOD
Our parish respresentatives are Larissa and Rob O’Halloran and we are most grateful to them for taking a lead in this process that starts off at parish level but grows into the diocesan stage and then the national stage before reaching the world state in Rome!
After reviewing the materials, they have compiled a brief questionnaire which they ask you to complete and return to the church within the next two weeks. The document is available for you to take away from church today. Please help if you can.
