Personal tel. no. 0208 302 8577. He would be delighted to receive visits (take a Parish Newsletter) and car parking is easy!
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION 2019: Application forms available for the First Holy Communion Programme 2019. Children eligible must be in Year 3 or above and should attend Mass regularly at St John Fisher, Bexley. Application forms are at the back of the Church (porch) or please see Angela Underwood. If you are a new parishioner and/or do not attend Mass, please speak to Father Doug. Completed forms must be returned no later than 23rd December 2018. The programme will commence on Sunday 13th January 2019. Full details of all relevant dates will follow soon. Finally, we really need new volunteers to help run the programme. If you are interested in helping our children, prepare for this special sacrament, please speak to Angela Underwood.
FATHER DOUG’S PRESBYTERY: Fr. Doug is looking for someone to help him clean the Presbytery once a week or once a fortnight for a few hours. If you know a cleaner, are a cleaner, then he’d be grateful to hear from you.
HALLHIRE I have decided, after many years, to step down from dealing with the hire of hall. I hope a parishioner will step forward to deal with it. I will of course be happy to help during the transition period. Kay Lyons
QUIZ NIGHT: Will be on the 17th November 2018. Tickets are being sold at the back of the church after every weekend mass or ring Anne on 01322 523499 for tickets.
OUR LADY’S FILM EVENING: Our next film evening will be on Wed 5th Dec when we will show an outstanding movie on St Dominic, the founder of the Order of Preachers (aka Dominicans). Dominic struggles to find a cure for the infestation of despair in his homeland. Later, in offering his life in the service of the Church, he is exposed to the greater perils of skewed Christian doctrines, which the Cathari profess to people of dying hopes.
The film will be shown in St John Fisher Bexley Church Hall, admission free, sub-titles, bar open, Christmas charity stall & members of AIC on hand. All welcome. Arrivals from 7 pm for 7:30 pm start.
Lift share: do you know of anyone who would like to come to this event, but needs a lift? Are you in a position to give a lift to others? If so, please contact Helen, our Lift Share Coordinator on 07532-124040; helenmrees2@live.co.uk.
Our Lady’s Film Evenings will most likely cease with this film. However, the licences we have to enable us to show films expire at the end of March 2019. To capitalise on this committed expense, I have developed a short programme of films and a presentation for the first quarter of next year.
Finally, thank you greatly for your kind and essential help in promoting Our Lady’s Film Evenings for the 8 years that we have been active and, in advance, for this short programme scheduled for next year. Tim Bowman
