CELEBRATION OF THE FEAST OF ST JOHN FISHER: Friday 23rd June This year we plan to celebrate the feast of St John Fisher with Mass at 6:30pm followed by a shared supper, music and an opportunity to socialise in the hall. You are invited to bring a plate of food and indicate what you will bring on the list which is in the porch. The bar will be open and refreshments available. Do join us to celebrate our feast and our parish.

AUDREY O’HARA RIP Tony Frake and members of Audrey’s family would like to thank you all for your kind support and prayers at this time. It is much appreciated.

EVENTS TEAM INFORMATION: Following the Christmas Fayre and the New Years Day lunch, to assist Fr Christian an Events team has recently been set up to co-ordinate social events in the Parish. Upcoming events for your diary:

• Birthday for Parishioners (2nd quarter group) – 25th June 2017
• Graduation/Birthday Celebration for the Parish by Fr Christian – 15th July 2017
Details soon. Contact 01322523499, or Fr Christian.

MEETING PLACE: This is a wonderful club that we run in conjunction with Bexley Council of Churches on Wednesdays in the Church Hall 9am to 1pm. Here one can enjoy congenial company, friendly helpers, sandwiches, cake, tea, coffee and wine. It is very much enjoyed by all and is a brilliant example of the way the different churches co-operate to the benefit of the local community.
Sadly over the years since it was established time has taken its toll on the numbers attending and there is a lack of new members. So, if you are looking for a chat or just a cup of tea why not come one Wednesday morning. Bring your friends and spread the word about a club that is available to all.
If you would like to come, but have mobility problems let us know and we will try to arrange transport.
That brings me to the second part of my appeal!
We are short of drivers and helpers. If you feel you can give a little time on Wednesdays and would like to volunteer to drive or assist please call Noel at Pomfrey Accountants 9am to 5pm Monday to Thursday on 01322 315755. Your help would really be appreciated. Tony Creed

OUR LADY’S FILM EVENING:

Our next film evening will be on Wed 14th Jun when we will show an epic movie on Pope Pius XII and the often hidden struggle waged by the Pope and others with him to save Jews from Nazis during WWII.

The film will be shown in St John Fisher Bexley Church Hall, admission free, light refreshments served, prayer group stall, bar open, and all are welcome. Arrivals from 6:30 pm for 7:00 pm start & latecomers welcome.

QUIZ NIGHT HELD LAST SATURDAY The quiz night attracted over 100 parishioners, families and friends to a most enjoyable occasionl Everyone was very generous with £600 being presented to the two representatives from the Bexley and Dartford Samaritans, who were overwhelmed by the sum. Prizes were given to the AIC team who won the event by overtaking on the last round. The balance of £173 was given to the Parish for its funds. Our thanks go to Cliff Thomas who organised the event, devised and asked the questions ably supported by a band of willing helpers.
