Dear Parishioners,

The gospel this Sunday does make us mindful of our stewardship of all that God invests in us. It might be a good time to consider whether we can do more for others and in particular, whether we can do more in the parish. Over the past few years our weekly collection has declined. Can we increase our contribution a little? The newsletter has several elements to it. Could someone assist in the compilation. Laundering the cloths used at mass used to be shared by several, now just one or two. The grounds need a lot of maintenance. A few people do “their bit”, Could anyone spare a little time to help as well? … And there’s always more!

God Bless,                                Fr Doug

Dear Parishioners,

A few people missed the arrival of our Jubilee Year Candle. It will remain lit (at Sunday mass) till the end of the Jubilee Year. It was presented to those who took part in the Jubilee Year Pilgrimage at the beginning of the month and represents our hopefulness despite the current turmoil in the world. The stones around it represent the various needs, anxieties, and other prayers that we each carried in pilgrimage, and laid before the Lord at journey’s end.

                                God Bless,                                Fr Doug

Dear Parishioners,

The church grounds do take a significant amount of maintenance. Many thanks to those who regularly tend the grounds and to those who last week cleaned up the porch area and tended the little garden next to Our Lady’s shrine.

Thanks too to our flower arrangers who have had to put extra effort into maintaining the flowers during the current hot season. Thanks to those bringing flowers and those supporting the ministry through the box at the back of church with your financial offerings.

God Bless,                                          Fr Doug
