Our big Lenten project will be to try and commit to the Cafod campaign to live simply, sustainably and in solidarity with the poor and marginalized.

We hope you will accept our invitation on the leaflet attached, to attend a film evening on this Friday March 7 at 19.00, where a Cafod film about the Live Simply campaign will be screened. This explains the key elements and gives examples and stories about how we can help change things through our pledges to Live Simply. Those who are unable to attend the film evening are encouraged to view the film via this link: theletterfilm.org.

Next weekend we will be sharing more information about Live Simply at every mass.

Dear Parishioners,

I shall be away next week. Back for Ash Wednesday!

Yes, Lent is just around the corner. I commend the Gospel reflections listed below, as a worthwhile commitment during lent 2025. But also…

“LIVE SIMPLY” … so that others simply, may live

Our other big Lenten project will be to try and commit to the Cafod campaign to live simply, sustainably and in solidarity with the poor and marginalized. We will invite you to make individual pledges and these will be hung on our re-cycled tree on the sanctuary. We will have suggestions for you but you might like to write your own – simple, doable measures that you might take on during Lent (- and beyond!), which won’t make world headlines but will make a difference.

                          God Bless,                                  Fr Doug

Dear Parishioners,

Emergency Lighting

You will be pleased to know that we have installed emergency lighting in the Church and in the Foyer.  Should there for any reason be a power cut, these lights will come on so that we can evacuate the areas more easily. You will also see that the security lighting round the church has been upgraded.

In this Jubilee Year we are encouraged to make at least one pilgrimage, but it does not have to be an expensive one to Rome or abroad, clocking up air miles. The Archbishop has designated our church and also St. John Vianney in Bexleyheath so that we can join with the other parishes of our Bexley Deanery, making our way from each of our churches on foot (or by bus) to SJV for a concluding Jubilee service together. SAT JULY 5TH – See below

God Bless,                                                Fr Doug
