Dear Parishioners,

We haven’t had a proper parish celebration of our patronal feast, that of St. John Fisher, since before Lockdown. We want to have a garden party with a barbecue on the Sunday following, 25th June. This is a big undertaking for us, and we need help, and lots of it, but between us we should be able to carry it off. The event will be heavily subsidised through a bequest from a parishioner. We need person power though:

(1)  General organisation and management of the event, including production and sale of tickets.

(2)  Catering, which involves barbecuing (!), organising accompanying food, doing teas and coffees, etc.

(3)  Setting up team – tables etc

(4)  Clearing up team

(5)  Arranging activities for children

There are clipboards in the foyer to receive offers of assistance, or if it is easier have a word with one of the parish council. Please come forward to attend the event and if possible, play a limited part in its production. If everyone does a little bit, then nothing is burdensome.

God Bless,                                                       Fr Doug

Dear Parishioners,

This coming Friday, we will celebrate the Coronation of His Majesty, King Charles III in our morning mass and pray for him, using the following prayer:

Priest: O Lord, save Charles, our King.        Response: And hear us on the day we call upon you.

Priest: O Lord, hear my prayer.                     Response: And let my cry come before you.

Priest: The Lord be with you.                        Response: And with your spirit.

All:      Almighty God, we pray, that your servant Charles, our King, who, by your providence has received the governance of this realm, may continue to grow in every virtue, that, imbued with your heavenly grace, he may be preserved from all that is harmful and evil and, being blessed with your favour may, with his consort and the royal family, come at last into your presence, through Christ who is the way, the truth and the life and who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever.

The Archbishop has also granted a dispensation from Friday abstinence on the 5th.

God Bless,                         Fr Doug
