The Blood of The Covenant

The old covenant was sealed with the blood of the sacrifice which Moses sprinkled on the people. The new covenant was sealed with the blood of Christ who offered himself as a perfect sacrifice to God.

OUR LADY’S FILM EVENING – Wednesday 13th June: Documentaries on the lives of: a) BI Francis Xavier Seelos, a young immigrant Redemptorist missionary priest to USA; and b) St Kateri Tekakwitha the first Native North American woman to be recognised as a saint. Bar open, admission free, all welcome, 7:00pm for 7:30pm start.

CELEBRATION OF ST JOHN FISHER DAY: Saturday 23rd June 2018. Barbeque and Fun Day for All: Dancing and entertainment from the Children’s Liturgy Group, Bexley Beavers, Irish dancers, and much more. Also live music and DJ in the evening (dancing shoes and Hips exercise unavoidable for this part).
To make it a great day your generosity is vital. We need contributions and/or donations of:

1) Your presence, ready and primed to have fun on the day.
2) Cash/sponsorship of one or more of the activities, e.g. Face painting, Bouncy Castle etc.
3) Traditional cuisine to serve on the day. The more cultures the cooked food represents, the jollier.
4) Standard size Table Tennis (table only will suffice) and/or other group game or activity.

There’s a clipboard with form in the Church foyer for you to indicate your generosity. Thank you.

OLD BEXLEY MUSIC FESTIVAL – 9TH JUNE – 1ST JULY 2018: Churches Together in Old Bexley present our annual music festival, events are open to all, free of charge, just turn up to hear jazz, songs from the silver screen, music to refresh the soul and even Divine Disney! St John Fisher is hosting Green Street Blues – Kent’s award winning acapella choir with a unique and mesmerising sound – on Tuesday 19th June, 8pm, in our Church Hall. ALTAR SERVERS SUMMER BREAK 7th – 10th AUGUST, WOLDINGHAM, SURREY. COST £145: This is an excellent few days for boy and girls servers aged 10 – 15 yrs. Meeting in a holiday atmosphere, activities include talks, discussions, prayer, daily Mass, as well as sport, Chessington World of Adventures, Laser Elite, swimming. CAR PARK NOTIFICATION: Car Parking Permits are now available for issue. Permit Application forms are available at the back of the Church or from the Parish Office. These are forms for:

1) Our customers in the High Street using our car park and parishioners using the car park all day long.
2) Other short businesses outside usual church activities.
3) There will also be a provision for non-parishioners who fall outside the above, categories to use the car park on a pay and display facility.

There is a plan to implement a system which will monitor all traffic movement in and out of the car park. Permit holders and others who have registered themselves will be exempt. Details to follow soon.

BEXLEY DEANERY DEVELOPING WORLD GROUP: Thank you for your kind donation of £117.67 on Sunday 6th May. We have now completed six projects and expect to begin the seventh shortly.
