Dear Parishioners,

Our HARVEST FESTIVAL will be celebrated on Sunday 6th October at 10.30 mass. We will be collecting food donations (non-perishable only please) and other essential items for the Manna Day Centre at London Bridge. For a list of most needed items please visit the Manna Society website: http://www.mannasociety.org.uk Please bring in your food items (nothing fresh that can go “out of date”) from next Sunday onwards and place them on the sanctuary. Harvest Festival gifts provide the Manna Centre with 70% of their foodstuffs for the year and are therefore critically important to them.  Please give if you are able. A full list of desirables is in the foyer.

BEXLEY INTERFAITH FORUM – SUMMER OF DISCONTENT? 

How can faith communities build cohesion in the wake of the August riots?

Tuesday 24th September at 7.30pm at Geddes Place United Reformed Church, Geddes Place, Bexleyheath DA6 7DJ. – One minute walk from the bus stops by the Clock Tower in Bexleyheath. 

The meeting will feature a Panel discussion with faith leaders of various faiths in Bexley – with the opportunity for Q&A 

 

REFLECTION DAY – “Love Changes Everything”

Saturday 5th October – 11am to 3pm, led by Fr Doug Bull and Trudy Kilcullen.

The day will offer plenty of space for quiet, prayer and reflection on God’s love in your life, and what, if anything might need to change. 

Sanctuary, 8 Hotham Close, Swanley Village. Bring a packed lunch. Donations welcome.

CAFOD FAMILY FAST DAY 

Friday 4th October is Family Fast Day. You are invited to fast on the day and offer the money saved to the work of CAFOD.  There will be a retiring collection on Sunday 6th October to harvest your savings and to give everyone the chance to contribute.

Our next opportunity to participate in this year of preparation for the 2025 Jubilee Year will be a series of presentations on the Lord’s own prayer in our parish hall.

You are warmly invited to the annual service of hope & healing for those that have been harmed by abuse and for those that work with or support those that have been harmed.

25th September 2024 at 6.30pm in St George’s Cathedral, SE1 7HY

Afterwards all are invited to tie a ribbon to our “LoudFence”, as a sign of solidarity, care & hope for survivors & as a memorial for those that have been lost to abuse.

Dear Parishioners,

As September arrives it isn’t just school children who have feelings of “New Year”. Here in the parish various programmes are getting underway once more. Many thanks to all who lead these programmes – Children’s Liturgy etc. 

I particularly commend the Year of Prayer events. The series of presentations on the Our Father looks very promising. Please come along and invite your friends, especially those in other churches. All will be welcome.
