CHURCHES TOGETHER IN OLD BEXLEY – Date for Diary Saturday 3 June 2017.Pentecost prayer walk – meet old and new friends as parishioners from the nine churches of CTIOB walk, chat and pray for the people, schools, workers, cared for and caring of Bexley, visiting each of our churches, ending the afternoon at St John Fisher (please note the car park will be very busy that day). Start time to follow, bring a packed lunch, walking shoes and a prayer for good weather!
3rd Annual Summer Music Festival – 8pm on Tuesday 13 June We are arranging this year’s concerts which are FREE and everyone is welcome. St John Fisher is hosting the concert with the return of the wonderful, award-winning, all-female a cappella choir Viva Acapella. Come and enjoy a great night out. OUR LADY’S FILM EVENING : Wednesday 17th May                                                                   We will show “the best film ever made” about Fatima to celebrate the 100th anniversary. This film dramatizes the story of 3 young shepherds who experienced apparitions with “a Lady from Heaven” between May and October 1917, and which culminated in the final prophesized miracle. At St John Fisher Church Hall, admission free, light refreshments served, bar open, charity stall selling jams and cakes, and all are welcome. Arrivals from 7pm for 7.30pm start.

PARISH COUNCIL AGM: Friday 19th May at 8.00pm in the hall. This is for all parishioners to come and discuss our parish life as well as socialise.

EVENTS TEAM Following the Christmas Fayre and the New Years Day lunch, to assist Fr Christian an Events team has recently been set up to coordinate social events in the Parish. Upcoming events are:-

The Jazz Night was successfully organised by The Truman Girls and Cliff Thomas is organising a Quiz Night for 3rd June 2017 (see below). MONASTIC CHOIR CONCERT: 3rd May 2017, 7.30 pm at St Anselm’s, West Hill, Dartford DA1 2HJ. The concert is led by the choir from St Elisabeth Convent, Minsk. The admission price is your voluntary donation and all proceeds will go to charity. After the concert, there will be a special exhibit from the workshops of St Elisabeth Convent. CHURCH FLOWERS: Thank you for all the kind comments about the flowers at Easter and many thanks for your support towards the costs of keeping the church decorated. So far this year, we have collected just over £50 from the wall box at the back of the church. Sue Murphy.

PARISH WEBSITE: The Parish website: stjohnfisherbexley.org has called in the decorators to give it a new look to celebrate its first Birthday. However, it’s got a long way to go to catch up with the Parish newsletter which is now 50 years old! It was launched at the end of April 1967 and is still going strong – 2,609 weeks later!
