A CALL TO PRAYER AND PUBLIC WITNESS FOR PEACE IN THE HOLY LAND

We are witnessing the devastating escalation of violence in Gaza and the West Bank with Israel’s latest decision to mount a new offensive in Gaza City threatening hundreds of thousands with further forced displacement. The cries of Palestinian church leaders for peace and solidarity have echoed across the global Church, urging us to respond with clarity, compassion, and conviction.

In response we are calling on churches across Britain to pray for peace on Sunday 21st September, coinciding with UN World Peace Day and the global call to prayer from the World Council of Churches.                                                         (Friends of the Holy Land)

OCTOBER ROSARY FOR JUSTICE AND PEACE

In the light of increasingly alarming and shocking news of the wars in Gaza, Ukraine, Sudan and elsewhere, we will offer a chance for prayer and reflection on the 5 Wednesday evenings of October, (starting Oct 1st) from 7.30 p.m. We will pray the Archbishop Romero Rosary with gospel readings and extracts from the teachings of St. Oscar Romero, Patron of Justice and Peace. There will be some quiet time to reflect, and then a decade of the Rosary prayed slowly and meditatively.

THE GOSPEL OF MATTHEW

On Saturday, Nov 15th, from 10.00-3.00. Dr. Brian Purfield on the loving justice and trusting peace.
