Dear Parishioners,

Today is the day! Let’s have a wonderful time celebrating our communion – our community, as we feast on the Parish Barbecue and enjoy the sunshine and the entertainment. Thanks to everyone who has bought tickets and to everyone who has contributed to the catering and to the organizing of the event. Sorry for the inconvenience of the car park being used for the barbecue to take place.

                                  God Bless,                                                Fr Doug

JUBILEE YEAR OF HOPE:  DEANERY PILGRIMAGE TO ST. JOHN VIANNEY

Next Saturday 5th July

Opening Service      10.30 All are welcome HERE at St. John Fisher.

Walking Pilgrims      Leave the church with your “pilgrimage pebble”. Each pilgrim will have a map and instructions. Pictures of the key turnings are in the foyer too.

We reckon 40 minutes to Hall Place and a further 30 minutes to St. J.V.

So, plenty of time for a refreshment break at Hall Place or in Bexleyheath.

Other Pilgrims:        Make your way to St. John Vianney, 21 Heathfield Road, Bexleyheath

Closing Service        1.00 All are welcome THERE at St. John Vianney.

It would be helpful if those walking let us know this weekend so that we can prepare enough sets of maps and instructions.

St. John Vianney has been designated as a Sacred Place for the Jubilee Year. The other seven parishes of Bexley deanery will meet with us for this great celebration. Refreshments will be available, but bring a picnic for lunch or try one of the restaurants on the Broadway or simply leave after the service.

A pilgrimage is essentially a personal activity whereby a physical journey helps us focus on our inner journey or quest – a special or long-term issue in your life or in the lives of your loved ones.
