SEASON OF CREATION & COP 29

The Jesuit Missions Team invite you to send a clear message to our government about the climate crisis. A presentation of cards is to be made in Downing Street. Cards and PRE-PAID envelopes are available in the foyer. Your card needs to arrive by October 1^st.

 

REFLECTION DAY – “Love Changes Everything”

Saturday 5^th October – 11am to 3pm, led by Fr Doug Bull and Trudy Kilcullen.

OCTOBER, a month to consider praying the Rosary.

1)    As usual, at Sunday masses during the month, we will say the “Hail Holy Queen” instead of the “Hail Mary” during our prayers of intercession.

2)    We want to invite those who are not used to praying the rosary to try it out as a Way into Prayer. Join us in Church at 5.30 each Saturday evening in October – or go it alone at home!

 

CAFOD FAMILY FAST DAY 

Friday 4th October is Family Fast Day. You are invited to fast on the day and offer the money saved to the work of CAFOD.  There will be a retiring collection on Sunday 6th October to harvest your savings and to give everyone the chance to contribute.  

 

HARVEST FESTIVAL 

Sunday 6th October at 10.30 mass we will celebrate the Harvest. We are collecting food donations (non-perishable only please) and other essential items for the Manna Day Centre at London Bridge. For a list of most needed items please refer to the list on the notice board in the foyer. Please bring in items and place them on the sanctuary. Harvest Festival gifts provide the Manna Centre with 70% of their foodstuffs for the year. Please give if you are able. 

 

PRAYING THE OUR FATHER

Our next opportunity to participate in this year of preparation for the 2025 Jubilee Year will be a series of presentations on the Lord’s own prayer in our parish hall.

Friday Oct. 11^th – Fr Doug opens the series with “Our” and “Father” 

Then, Oct 18th, 25^th, Nov. 15th, 22nd. 7p.m. for 7.30.- 9.00. Come to one session or all.

Patrick’s funeral will be on Friday October 25^th. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
