Dear Parishioners,

This week on Tuesday we celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Walsingham, which is really about the national shrine there in Norfolk. It’s said that in 1061 the lady of the manor was instructed in a vision of Our Lady to build a replica of the house in Nazareth. The replica house was destroyed at the Reformation but pilgrimages revived in the 19th and 20th centuries for both Catholics and Anglicans, giving it national significance. There is now a special mass for the day.

I am on a short holiday from Wednesday onwards. Back next week.

God Bless, Fr Doug
