Dear Parishioners,
This weekend Bishop Philip Moger came to confer the Sacrament of Confirmation of 6 teenagers in our parish. The gift of God’s Holy Spirit affirms the gifts, the talents and the individuality of each young person and sets them free to share all this with others especially in the parish. All of us should look back to the day of our Confirmation and reflect upon how we allow or limit the Holy Spirit to enable us to fully express and share who each of us is, with all our personal gifts. We all have much to share. Our Parish Feast day celebrations illustrated this perfectly!
God Bless, Fr Doug
PARISH FEASTDAY BBQ
Many, many, thanks to everyone who pitched in to help make the day a really good one for the parish, and especially our hard-working organizing Events Team, but a huge thanks as well, to all who supported with participation, raffle prizes etc.
THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH – Shape Up! Friday 7.00
In preparation for the HOLY YEAR in 2025. Pope Francis has asked us to reflect on the renewal and reshaping of the church launched by the second Vatican Council in the 1960s.
Fr. Eugene Curran C.M. will offer a presentation in the hall on Friday, 5th July 7-9.30. It really will be well worth the investment in time to see why we are as we are, and not as we were!!!
A parish programme on praying the Our Father will be delivered in the autumn.
PETER’S PENCE
This fund enables Peter’s successor, Pope Francis to support and develop the church and particular groups in need, in many different parts of the world.
SVP
St.John Fisher Conference of the St. Vincent de Paul Society would like to thank parishioners for their donations in the recent collection which amounted to £282.92. This will enable us to continue to support vulnerable people in our area.
REFLECTION DAY AT SANCTUARY
“Walking Humbly with God” Saturday July 20th from 11am to 3pm at Sanctuary, Swanley Village. This time for space, prayer and reflection will be led by Chris Chapman and Trudy Kilcullen. We will explore how humility can help us grow in self-understanding and free us to share the best of who we are. For more info or to book email tkilcullen@live.co.uk or call 07977 978536

CHURCH CLEANING
We are very grateful that a new group of parishioners have volunteered to help with the church cleaning. We now have 6 groups therefore each group will clean every 12 weeks. The revised rota from 8 July is now available for collection from the cupboard.
AID TO THE CHURCH IN NEED
It was suggested at the AGM that we could and should support this organisation. If we are to do so we will need a parish promoter. If anyone already has any relationship with them, please let Fr Doug know or if you think you might be able to help, again talk to Fr Doug.
